He was predeceased by: his parents, John Junior and Mary Strickland Garner; and his siblings, Retha Barbour and Donnie Garner. He is survived by: his siblings, Kenneth Garner (Polly) of Durham, Carl Garner (Diane) of Zebulon, Bruce Garner (Janice) of Columbia, SC and Joyce Tyner (Dennis) of Smithfield; and his sister-in-law Chris McLamb (Dennis) of Dunn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
