He was predeceased by: his parents, William Franklin and Katie Stewart; and his siblings, Al Stewart, Johnny Stewart, Bernice Wadsworth and Jean Moore.
He is survived by: his wife Mable Huffman Stewart; his children, Jimmy Ray Stewart (Sissy) of Scotland Neck, Ricky Stewart (Sherry) of Selma and Linda Acres (Ken) of Kenly; his sisters, Dorothy Godwin of Selma and Joyce Strickland (Bill) of Selma; and his grandchildren, Tabitha Pate (David), Samantha Jackson (Maurice), Adam Johnson (Molly), Chassidy Zmijewski (Billy), Britney Newcomb (Austin), Jimmy Ray Stewart, Jr. (Kristen) and Austin Stewart. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
