She was predeceased by: her parents, Braddie Godwin and Lena Godwin; her husband Charles Hester, Sr.; and her siblings, Roy and Hannah.
She is survived by: her children, Charles E. "Chuck" Hester, Jr. of Clayton, Ron Hester (Heidi) of Selma and Missy Dorsey (Jon) of Henderson; her brother William Godwin of Clayton; and her grandchildren, Meredith Peacock (Hunter), Julia Boot (Will), Holden Dayoub, Caroline Dayoub, Tina Hooks, Michelle Eason and Justin Lowry. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Chatham Animal Rescue & Education (CARE) PO Box 610 Pittsboro, NC 27312 in memory of Barbetta Hester.
