He was predeceased by: his parents, Rayford Pierce and Cleadel Garner Pierce; and his brother Harold Pierce. He is survived by: his wife Dianne Brady Pierce; his sons, Tim Pierce (Kendra) of Burlington and Jody Pierce of Graham; his sisters, Norma Clark (Jerry) of Hopewell, VA, Geraldine Hicks (Lloyd) of Seagrove and Vickie Brown (Benjy) of Seagrove; his sister-in-law Martha Pierce of Seagrove; and his granddaughters, Zoe Pierce and Ava Pierce. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
