She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Kennedy and Thelma Lineberry Kennedy; her sons, Jerry E. Sheppard and Terry L. Kennedy; and her siblings, Roger Kennedy and Emma Gene Johnson.
She is survived by: her husband Donald Hughes; her children, Betty Darlene Sheppard of Randleman, Johnny Wayne Kennedy of Star and Bobby Dean Sheppard; her sisters, Doris Hurley and Avalee Bunkamier; and her grandchildren, Jessie Slycord, Jerri Kennedy, Joel Rouse, Ashley Kennedy, Brandon Davis and Meagan Sheppard. She is also survived by several great grandchildren.
