He was predeceased by: his parents, George Thomas Mason and Elaine Mason Porter; and his sister Marie Ann Mason. He is survived by: his nephew Areyarn Shoulders of Seaboard; his siblings, Gladys M. Britt of Roanoke Rapids, Judie A. Barnes of Galatia, Mildred Gunn (Andre) of Newark, James Mason (Denise) of Greensboro, Richard Mason of Gumberry and David Ford of Newark; his son Steven Jerrod Mason of Hampton, Virginia; and his stepdaughter Brandi Yvonne Rogers of Hampton, Virginia. He is also survived by two step-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
