He was predeceased by: his parents, William Jackson and Agnes Sawyer Gibbs; and his aunts and uncles, Ray Gibbs, Leland Gibbs, Jr., Arthur B. Gibbs, Rebecca S. Davenport, Willie Mae G. Bailey, Margaret G. Berry, Doris L. Gibbs and Linda G. Morris.
He is survived by: his caregiver Richard Credle of Scranton; and his aunts and uncles, Harry Sawyer, Jr. (Sandra) of Washington, Georgie Sawyer (Miriam), Myrtle S. Kirk of Belhaven, Shelby S. Williams (Willie), Helen G. Steptoe, Linda Modlin (Bud) of Pinetown and Sandra S. Brooks of South Mills.
A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Eunice Chapel Church of Christ (4970 Loop Rd, Scranton, NC 27875).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Eunice Chapel Church of Christ 895 Beulah Rd, Scranton NC 27875.
