He was predeceased by: his parents, James Draper and Lillie Cannon Draper; his former wife Barbara Cartledge Draper; his siblings, Alma Hadlow, Margaret Elizabeth Parker, Lillie Mae Strickland and Johnnie Draper; his daughter-in-law Patricia Ann Draper; and his close friend Lena Simmons.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Moore (Milton) of Scotland Neck, Bill Draper (Leigh) of Scotland Neck and Nelson Draper of Boykins, VA; his grandchildren, Deborah Powell, Crystal Davis, Margaret Dodson, Gloria Dodson, Ali Draper, Selena Boyette, Kelly McClenny, Jimmy Dodson, Charles Dodson, Bill Hatch and Tracy Hatch; his great grandchildren, Della Powell, Nora Grace Powell, Hannah Medlin, Georgia Boyette, Olivia Hatch, Dylan Heath, Julian Pray, J. Carter Boyette, Ayden Hatch, Tracy Hatch, Jr. and Noah James Dodson; his great great grandchildren, Caiden Medlin, Chase Medlin and Zander McClenny; and his nieces, Lillian Everett and Snooky Tolson. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.
