It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Ricks Edwards (Scotland Neck, North Carolina), who passed away on December 7, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Ricks and Margaret "Tiny" Ellen Ricks; her husband Dr. John Jackson Edwards Jr.; her son Kenny Edwards; her siblings, Eddie Ricks, Mary Ellen Glover and Nancy Stein; and her children-in-law, Bob Richardson and Kathy Edwards.
She is survived by: her children, Debbie Richardson of Knightdale, NC, Johnny Edwards III of Morehead, NC and Michael Edwards (Beth) of Wake Forest, NC; her grandchildren, Angela Edwards Ashton (Brandon) of Surf City, NC and Chris Edwards of Raleigh, NC; her great grandchildren, Ryan, Brynn and John Ashton; her siblings, Dorothy Eason of Virginia, Lynette Bullock (Mike) of Rocky Mount, NC, Robert Ricks (Mary Bruce) of Rocky Mount, NC and Allen Ricks of Rocky Mount, NC; and her brother-in-law Stan Glover of Greenville.
