It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marie Hinton Phillips (Scotland Neck, North Carolina), who passed away on June 27, 2019, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ivan Derveer Hinton and Beulah Hinnant Hinton; her husband Ralph A.; and her sisters, Ruth Hinton Parks of Roanoke Rapids and Virginia Hinton Britt of Winston-Salem.

She is survived by: her children, Ralph A. "Mann" Phillips, III (Libby) of Scotland Neck and Marie Hinton Phillips of Vass; her grandchildren, Jamie Hinton Phillips (Michael Bearak) of Wilmington and William Alston Phillips of Wilmington; her great grandchildren, Ramsey Elizabeth of Wilmington and Bodhi Mann of Wilmington; and her nephews, Bill Britt (Marty), Tom Britt (Karen) and Pete Parks (Vicki).
