He was predeceased by: his parents, William Scott Hoggard and Mattie Bazemore Hoggard; his wife Delores "Lois" Ann Hoggard; and his siblings, Wilmer Edward, Edgar Hoggard, Lula Mae Hall, Frances Dunloe and Jean Robbins.
He is survived by: his sister Catherine Mizelle (Harold) of Winterville, NC; his sister-in-law Mary Lynn Hoggard of Colerain, NC; his stepchildren, Deborah Bland Plumb (Kevin) of Burlington, NC and John Sherwood Bland (Carlin "Cricket") of Burlington, NC; his grandchildren, John Roman Byrd of Graham, NC and Megan Elizabeth Bland of Graham, NC; and his great grandchild Levi Jack Collins. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
