It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Emma Lou Gay Pippen (Scotland Neck, North Carolina), born in Whitakers, North Carolina, who passed away on September 20, 2019, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Sloane Gay and Lucy Sue Wells Gay; her siblings, Mary Alice Gay Brown and Marvin Ray Gay; and her sister-in-law Kathleen Berry Gay.
She is survived by: her husband Marvin Pippen; her children, Mann Pippen (Monice) of Edenton and LuAnn (Virgil Lee Kirkland) of Whitakers; her siblings, Evelyn Glover (Robert) of Rocky Mount, Peggy Brown (Clarence) of Williamsburg, VA and Rudolph Gay of Rocky Mount; and her grandchildren, Christopher Pippen (Jessica) of Chapel Hill, Craig Pippen (Dana) of Rocky Mount, Kristin Harkins (Robert) of Whitakers, LeighAnn Champagne (Kevin) of Whitakers and Megan Kirkland of Whitakers. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
