Douglas Pittman Speight Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Pittman Speight of Scotland Neck, North Carolina, who passed away on October 11, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Junious Speight and Hilda Cherry Speight; and his wife Gertrude "Trudy" Staton. He is survived by: his children, Edy Speight Abshire (Les) of Wake Forest and Brian Douglas Speight (Anna) of Wake Forest; his grandchildren, Claire Staton Abshire, Olivia Irene, Ava Louise Speight, Joshua Curtis, Coleman Allan Abshire and Jakob Douglas Speight; and his sister-in-law Pat Winslow.
Due to the unprecedented COVID circumstances and the impact felt by the family, this time is for the community to pay their respects, but the family will not be present.
