It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cary Jay Long (Scotland Neck, North Carolina), who passed away on November 8, 2021, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Long and Joyce Lankford Inman; his stepfather Jerry Inman; his brothers, Rodney and Teddy Long; and his brother-in-law Russell Carpenter.
He is survived by: his granddaughter Ellie Grace; his children, Ashley Exum of Woodland, Janine Garbette (Matthew) of Charleston, SC, Stacey Johnson-Wheeler of Moncks Corner, SC, Heather McKinney (Nathan) of Moncks Corner, SC and Charlie Long (Kayla) of Dublin, GA; his granddaughters, Victoria Exum of Woodland, Ellie Grace Long of Dublin, GA, Destinee Brown (Mario) of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Janie Exum (Levi) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his siblings, Sandy Carpenter of Virginia, Rhonda Johnson of Virginia, Jolene Todd (Bruce) of Virginia, Vonnie Ghosn (Raymond) of Virginia and Grover Long of Texas; his friends, William, Sue Ayscue of Woodland, Dawn Ayscue of Woodland, Bryan Ayscue (Melanie) of Jackson, NC and Wyatt Liverman (Grace) of Beaufort, SC; and his great grandchild Grayson Brown of Roanoke Rapids, NC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
