He is survived by: his children, Beverly W. Whitehurst (Whitehurst), Dorothy W. Harris of Scotland Neck, Al Whitehead (Becky) of Scotland Neck and Bill Whitehead (Sue Clegg) of Rocky Mount; and his sister Billie W. Johnson of Oak City.
