He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawton Lawton and Louise Herrington Lawton; his wife Johnnie Jean Herron Lawton; his grandson Matthew Coore; and his brothers, Arnold Lawton and Lewis Lawton.
He is survived by: his children, Karen L Griffin (Randy) of Pittsboro, Sharon L Sawyer (Randy) of Sanford and Arnold Brent Lawton of Moncure; his grandchildren, Samuel Griffin, Heather Weir, Whitney Burgess and Lawton Sawyer (Jessica); his great grandchildren, Natalie Coore, Kayla Coore, Colin Weir, Abbigail Weir, Jayden Burgess, Jordyn Burgess, Savannah May Sawyer and Sadie Gray Sawyer; and his siblings, Ricky Lawton and Dorothy Womble (Wayne).
