He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gunter and Virginia Harmon Gunter; his wife Brenda Black Gunter; his daughter Natalie Gunter; and his siblings, Brenda Gilmore, Pat Dean and Joe Gunter.
He is survived by: his children, Faye Hobson, Thomas Gunter (Angela), Sheila Patterson (Dewayne) and Chad Gunter; and his sister Linda. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.
