Samuel Earl Murphy Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Samuel Earl Murphy of Sanford, North Carolina, born in East Brewton, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 23, 2024 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Jane Overstreet Murphy and Fountain Park Murphy; and his daughter C. Laurence Murphy. He is survived by: his wife Joy Phillips Murphy; his sister Sue Murphy Benvenutti of Gulf Breeze, Florida; his sister-in-law Judy Phillips Billings (Rick); his nephews, Josh Billings (Ann), Adam Billings (Laurel) and Stan Benvenutti (Mary Ann); his niece Susan Docherty (Jim); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Finley, Addie, Camden, Faith, Mattie, Gene, Maggie, Richard, Reagan and Kendall.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Shallow Well Church (1220 Broadway Rd, Sanford, NC 27332).
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Outreach Mission, Inc. or Sanford Lee County Stroke Support in care of The Enrichment Center of Lee County.
