He was predeceased by: his father John Roy Matthews; his son Robert Wayne Matthews; and his brother John Roy Matthews, Jr. (Phyllis). He is survived by: his wife Jo Kennedy Matthews; his children, Ricky Joe Matthews and Lee Aaron Matthews; his siblings, Larry W. Matthews (Gwyn) and Carolyn Matthews Edwards (Jack); and his granddaughters, Autumn Star Matthews and Nevaeh Skye Mathews.
