He is survived by: his daughters, Amanda Dennis Carter-Moore (Justin), Candy Rogers Speagle (James) of Castle Haynes, NC, Stormy Johnson (Jason) and Broadway; his siblings, Keller M Pate (Kathy) of Oak Island, NC and Virginia Riggins of Mebane, NC; his grandchildren, Richard Craig Carter, JoHanna Grace Carter, Noah Lucas Johnson, Nathan Reece Johnson, Allie Nicole Johnson and Vanessa Paige Moore; and his great grandchild Laney Claire Carter.
