He was predeceased by: his parents, Hidiaki Frank "Pete" Sakaniwa and Mathilde Rommel Sakaniwa; his grandparents, Anton and Mathilde Rommel; and his brother-in-law Harold "Pete" Foster.
He is survived by: his wife Angela Foster Sakaniwa; his son Peter John Sakaniwa, Jr. (Lauren) of Tennessee; his stepson R. Michael Foster (Dani) of Tennessee; his siblings, Tony Sakaniwa (Lynn) of Nebo, NC, Aida Walters (Dave) of Holly Springs, NC and Mark Sakaniwa (Karen) of Tampa, FL; his parents-in-law, Robbie and Brenda Phillips of Inverness, Florida; his brother Daryl; his sister-in-law Teresa Wilson of Lillington, NC; and his grandchildren, Reagan and Wyatt Foster. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
