He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Carter and Gertie Gillis Carter; his wife Susan Bercini Carter; his son Dennis Marion Carter; and his brother J. C. Carter.
He is survived by: his children, Paul David Carter (Karen) and Dee Carter Taylor (Will Yarborough); his grandchildren, Jordan, Madison, Jackson Carter, Scott (Holly), Shane and Maxx Taylor; and his siblings, Donnie Carter (Sandra), Janice Holder and Wilma Truelove.
A graveside service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Grace Chapel Church Cemetery (2605 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Sanford, NC 27332).
