It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Opal Champion Moore of Sanford, North Carolina, who passed away on November 6, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Lee Champion and Nova Deaton Champion; her husband William Ray Moore Sr.; her brother Ray Lee Champion Jr.; and her half-siblings, Elbert Cox, Robert Cox, Clarence Cox, Willia Cox McDugan, Mildred Champion Strickland and Flonnie Champion Brooks.
She is survived by: her sons, William Ray Moore Jr. (Shujin Liu) of Denver, CO and Donald Gergory Moore (Ellen Burnette) of Memphis, TN; and her caregiver Kay Holt of Sanford.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Tramway Baptist Church, 2401 Jefferson Davis Highway, Sanford, NC 27330.
