She was predeceased by: her parents, Leon Buchanan and Hazel Harrington Buchanan; her husband Edward Freeman; and her brother Waldo Buchanan. She is survived by: her niece Melissa Buchanan Godfrey (Glenn) of Sanford; her nephews, Tim Buchanan (Kim) of Broadway and Glenn Smeal (Jennifer) of Raleigh; her sisters-in-law, Lida Buchanan of Broadway and Anne Smeal of Durham; and her close friend David McFarland.
