He is survived by: his wife Loscie Watson; his son Derek, Sr. (Tiffany) of Greensboro; his grandchildren, Jordan of Greensboro, Derek Jr. of Greensboro, Kaleb of Greensboro and Darrell of Greensboro; and his siblings, Willie Watson (Doris), Theodore Watson (Betty), Cathy Jones (William), James Johnson and Judy Watson.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Knotts Funeral Home (719 Wall St, Sanford, NC 27330). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Christian Center (1395 Fire Tower Rd, Sanford, NC 27330). A burial was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at the St. Paul AME Zion Church (550 Cumnock Rd, Sanford, NC 27330).
