She was predeceased by: her father James McCoy Whitaker; her husband Charles Andrew Hickman; and her siblings, Viola Baker and Darrell Powers. She is survived by: her mother Marie Gwyn Bolick of Hickory; her sons, Charles Andrew "Charlie" Hickman, Jr. (Crystal) of Sanford and Brian Lee Hickman (Allison Haire) of Sanford; her siblings, James Whitaker (April) of Sanford, Jimmy Whitaker (Lorraine) of Sanford, Jack Powers of Hickory and Suzanne Dickens (Daniel) of Sanford; her stepdaughter Rhonda Ann Stevens (Michael) of South Carolina; and her grandchildren, Collin Hickman, Chaslyn Hickman, Brittany Stevens and Amanda McCarthy (Killian). She is also survived by her family, friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home (600 W Main St, Sanford, NC 27332). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Church (185 Calvary Church Rd, Sanford, NC 27332). A burial was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Buffalo Cemetery (1333 Carthage St, Sanford, NC 27330).
