He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleo Gilmore Sellars and Louis Smith. He is survived by: his close friend Sharon Blackwell; his children, John Gilmore Jr., Deshawn Townes and Angela Lowther; his brother Edward Lee McNeill; his aunts, Geneva Headen and Carolyn Street; his niece Stephanie Belk; and his nephew Octavius Belk. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
