He is survived by: his wife Linda Smith Ellerby; his children, Tamara Ellerby-McNeil, Shawn Ellerby (Timeka) and Yalanda Edwards (Trent); his siblings, Doris Palmer, Linda Faye Ellerby, David Ellerby (Dale) and Michael Cotten (Shirley); his siblings-in-law, Jimmy Goldston, Thomas Smith (Dorothy), Enos Smith (Betty), William Smith (Carol), Raymond Smith, Wellington Langley, Vera, Evelyn, Barbara, Sandra, Mariethia, Annette Smith and Gwendolyn Ellerby; his grandchildren, Kourtney, Antwan, Ashton Ellerby, Devonte, Maurice McNeil, Mekhi Womack, Courtney, Tiara, Trent Jr. and Mya Edwards; his son-in-law Carlos McNeil; his daughter Takia McLeod; and his grandson Aubry McLeod.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Family Residence. A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Christian Center (1395 Fire Tower Rd, Sanford, NC 27330).
