He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Gay Everett Cooper; his children, Emily Anne Cooper Price of Cameron, James Ray Cooper of Cameron, NC and Jackson Cooper of Cameron, NC.; his stepsons, Chris Zacharias, Casey Zacharias and Jessie Zacharias; and his siblings, Joyce Sue Williams (Willie) of Sanford, NC, John D. Cooper (Susan) of Olivia, NC and James E. Cooper of Burgaw, NC.
