She was predeceased by: her parents, William Worth Johnson, Sr. and Lucy Matthews Johnson; her husband Charles "Charlie" Carter; her brothers, Eddie Darrell Johnson, William "Butch" Johnson and William Shane (Joseph Blane); and her sons-in-law, Stacey Neil Hall and Mickey Jay Bass.
She is survived by: her daughters, Shannon Hall of Sanford and Lauren Bass (Mark) of Sanford; her stepchildren, Teresa "Terri" Hayter (David) of Fayetteville and Charles "Kevin" Carter (Emily) of Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, Tyler Charles Hall, Savanah Grace Hall "Turnip", Addisyn Olivia Bass "Addie", Caroline Carter, John Robert Carter, Eric Michael Kane and Jordan Lee Brooks; and her cousin Lisa Matthews. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the New Hope Baptist Church (3007 Beechtree Dr, Sanford, NC 27330).
