It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Bowling of Sanford, North Carolina, who passed away on September 30, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Bowling to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Lee Bowling and Ilene Sloan Bowling; and his brothers, Edward Lee Bowling and William Sloan Bowling. He is survived by: his wife Mary LaVerne Buchanan Bowling; his daughters, Carren Bowling of Sanford, NC and Deborah Bowling McLeod (Neal) of Fayetteville, NC; his grandsons, Stephen Worthy (Elizabeth) and Edward McLeod; and his great grandchildren, Andrew "Drew" Worthy and Caroline Worthy.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials are made to the Disabled American Veteran (DAV) Fund.
