With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Gerald Dwayne Smith of Sanford, North Carolina, born in Tacoma, Washington, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Smith and Lillian Nelson Smith; his wife Esther Langley Smith; his daughter Beverly Buchanan; and his siblings, Dorothy Brown, Almon Smith and Leroy Smith.
He is survived by: his daughter Karen Bryant (Jeff) of Sanford; and his grandchildren, Ashley Buchanan, Britt Buchanan, Jeremy Holder and Haley Bryant. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
