He is survived by: his wife Maria Luisa Zavala Vanegas; his children, Jose Evaristo Vanegas (Ana Vanegas), Rosa Maribel Vanegas (Juan Mendoza), Emilio Antonio Vanegas and Yanira Vanegas Scott (Patrick Scott); his grandchildren, Ethan Vanegas, Ethiel Vanegas, Anthony Vanegas, Leilani Scott and Nathaniel Scott; and his siblings, Blanca Vanegas, Nicolas Vanegas, Jose Franciso Vanegas and David Reyes.
