It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clara Esther Clegg of Sanford, North Carolina, who passed away on July 16, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alonzo Brown and Beulah Brown; her former husband Winston Upchurch; her children, Barbara J. Sowell (Upchurch), Carver L. Upchurch and Winfred R. Upchurch; and her husband Alfred F. Clegg.
She is survived by: her daughters, Linda A Johnson (Upchurch) and Brenda Clegg; and her sister Lillie Upchurch of Sanford, NC. She is also survived by great-great-grandchildren along with a host of nephew's cousins and friends.
