It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles R Huggins of Sanford, North Carolina, born in Lenoir, North Carolina, who passed away on September 14, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell J. Huggins and Bleeka Carpenter Huggins. He is survived by: his wife Linda Cline Huggins; his children, Susan H. Grainger (Bill) of Clemmons and Mark R Huggins (Shawn) of Hickory; his grandchildren, Meredith Chadwell (Ryan), Eric Grainger (Abby), Adam Grainger, Steven Grainger, Megan Duggins (Jason) and Brooke Huggins; and his great grandchildren, Saylor Chadwell, Holden Chadwell, Tucker Chadwell, Nash Grainger, Hensley Grainger, Riggs Grainger and Ellie Mason.

Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 525 Carthage Street, Sanford, NC 27330 or a Memorial in his name to the Dementia Society of America.

Cristen Chappell wrote a sympathy message

“Pastor Huggins was the interim at Christus Victor Lutheran in Durham. He was there two times, one of those times was after a sudden departure of a pastor. He was a blessing for CVLC. My heart goes out to Linda and their family during this difficult time. We will all be together again.”
