He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bernard Gantt, Sr. and Annie Mae Montgomery Martin. He is survived by: his brother Stephen Gantt; his wife Carol Woodley of Sanford; his brother Steve Gantt of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; his son Richard Gantt (Sanan Smith) of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Jackson Gantt, Graeme Gantt, Dayton Smith, Lachlan Gantt and Tyler Gantt; his son Chris Gantt (Meredith); his grandchildren, Annalise Ellard, Jai Ellard and Isabella Ellard; his daughter Margaret "Maggie" Gerardi (Paul Gerardi); and his grandchildren, Will Gerardi and Wade Gerardi.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (202 Summitt Dr, Sanford, NC 27330). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, Bernie's family requests that you honor his memory by making a donation to First Baptist Church of Sanford, the American Cancer Society, Gideons International, or Rotary International's "Coins for Alzheimer's Research Trust.".
