She was predeceased by: her parents, Preston James and Isabel Queen Walker McDougald; her husband Freeman Cole Sr.; her children, Micheal Anthony, Jerry Cole and Lena May Cole; and her siblings, Ruthilene McDougald, Mary Frances Laster, Betty Belton, Herman Johnson Jr., Charles, Randolph, Preston, Floyd, Isaac, Leroy, Elbert, Frank, William Henry and Jeremiah McDougald.
She is survived by: her children, Shirley Tucker of Sanford, NC, Annabel McDougald of Sanford, NC, Angela Cole of Sanford, NC, Leon McDougald, Marvin Cole of Sanford, NC and Freeman Cole Jr. (Joyce) of Raleigh, NC; her sisters, Patricia McCrae of Elizabethtown, NC, Rosa (Walter) of Cameron, NC and Mildred (Charles) of Maryland; and her siblings-in-law, Pat Newby (Robert), Connie Jacobs of Sanford, NC, Edith Cole of Florida and James Belton of Olivia. She is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren; forty-five great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Knotts Funeral Home (719 Wall St, Sanford, NC 27330). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
