He was predeceased by: his mother Betty Slawter. He is survived by: his father J. W. Slawter; his wife Kathy Corns Slawter; his daughters, Kara Slawter and Jenna Bowman (Nick); his grandsons, Ethan and Isaac Bowman; and his siblings, Wayne Slawter, Susan Rierson and Debbie Jackson (Lonnie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel (1020 Hope Beasley Rd, Sandy Ridge, NC 27046). A reception was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
