She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Ernest Lee, Sr. and Juanita Smith Lee; her husband Bobby Gene Carter; and her son David Lee Carter. She is survived by: her sons, Michael Kelley Carter (Teresa) of Sandy Ridge, Markcus Jeffrey Carter (Carolyn) of Sandy Ridge and Kenneth Nolan Carter (Mandy) of Oak Island, N. C.; her grandchildren, Nicholas Justin Carter, Matthew Tyler Carter, Jenna Carter Sorrell, Cody Christopher Deer, Landon Nolan Carter, Tonya Renee Barbour, David Allen Cole, Jr., Jonathan Michael Lawless, Christopher Aaron Carter, Benjamin Adam Carter, Tim Helms and Mark Helms; and her siblings, Edwin Lee of Wichita, Daniel Lee of Salem, Oregon and Elaine Dancy (Paul Clifton) of Sandy Ridge. She is also survived by great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel (1020 Hope Beasley Rd, Sandy Ridge, NC 27046). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
