She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie James and Murphy Lawson James; her husband Ernest Herman Nelson; her grandson Stan Simmons; and her siblings, Thelma Flynt, Daf Lasley, Ruthie James, Emma Lemons, Paul, Rob and John James.
She is survived by: her children, Timothy Nelson (Beth), Patricia Lawson (Bruce), Kathy Wall and Cindy Nelson (Chris Mabe); her grandchildren, Tammy Mabe, Heather Powell, Chris Lawson, Marah Spangler, Jesse Nelson and Angie Hudson; and her close friend Larry Hodge. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
