He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Osban Richards and Rosa Lee Ballew Richards; and his siblings, Jerry, Fred, James, Mack, Bobby, Emma Lee Richards and Ruth McClain.

He is survived by: his wife Pearl Pace Richards; his children, John Richards (Krystal), Angel Richards and Rose Richards; his brother Garland Richards of Cowpens; and his grandson Dominic Richards. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
