He was predeceased by: his father Robert Allan. He is survived by: his mother Joan E. McDonald; his close friend Tim Trivett; his wife Renoda; his brothers, Robert and Greg Allan; his stepsons, Ralph and Richard Mikos; and his grandchildren, Matthew, Justin, Nicholas Mikos and Lucy Jenkins. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
