She was predeceased by: her father Verdun Smith; and her sisters, Carol McGuire and Judy Taylor. She is survived by: her husband Gene Hyatt; her son Ashley Forbes of Salter Path; her siblings, Neal Smith (Lois) of Swansboro and Penny Dean Guthrie of Jacksonville; and her grandchildren, Garrett Forbes and Brantley Forbes.
