He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Guthrie and Rita Guthrie; his brothers, Buck Guthrie and Ottis Guthrie; his nephew Eric Guthrie; and his close friend Captain "Froggy" Robertson.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Sue Willis Guthrie; his children, Kelly Guthrie of Salter Path, Karen Guthrie Husted of Morehead City, Mike Guthrie (Cheryl) of Salter Path, Randy Guthrie (Sharon Kay) of Salter Path and William Paul Guthrie (Debra) of Tarboro; his brothers, Vernon Guthrie of Salter Path and Delmas "Till" Guthrie of Salter Path; and his grandchildren, Jeremy Guthrie (Trista), Paige Husted, Christopher Husted (Jessica Bonham), Brennen Guthrie (Taylor Davis), Kalee Beganovic (Senadin), Christie Sullivan (Kevin), Kimberly Long (Chris) and Bethany Sykes (Greg). He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
In keeping with the CDC guidelines pertaining to the Coronavirus, those who are ill or at-risk (elderly, immune-compromised) are encouraged to stay home.
