Velma Clagett Tackett Obituary
We are sad to announce that on March 2, 2024, at the age of 95, Velma Clagett Tackett of Salisbury, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Maurice Clagett and Katherine Clagett; her husband Raymond Nolan Tackett; her former husband Lucious Ray Bost; her brother David Clagett; and her great grandchildren, Courtney Tackett and Gavin Tackett.
She is survived by: her sons, Lawrence Tackett of The Woodlands, TX, Kenneth Tackett (Juanita) of Charlotte, David Tackett (Candace) of Charlotte, Danny Tackett (Debbie) of Salisbury and Kevin Tackett (Felicia) of Charlotte. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was the perfect blend of sweet and strong: sweet as demonstrated by her care for people less fortunate, whether it was sending money to needy Christians abroad or visiting the "old folks" in the nursing home when she was in her 70's; strong as illustrated by surviving COVID and a stroke which resulted in her being placed in hospice three times (and sent home from hospice twice).
