He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Calvin Austin and Adora Mitchell Austin Harter; his brothers, Noel and Gary; and his son Raymond Stacy Austin, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ruth Shue Austin; his son David Austin; his sister-in-law Nancy Shue; and his sister Elona Boulware. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
