He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Vertice A. Scotton and Maggie Bell Price; and his siblings, Maggie Scotton Reid, Rev. Vertice A. Scotton, Jr. (Sonny), Amitt Scotton (Bo) and Robert Scotton (Pinto).
He is survived by: his wife Christine of Atlanta, GA; his daughters, Michele Adamo of North Plainfield, NJ, Christina Scotton of Cary, NC and Paulette Morrison-Danner (Dietrich) of Durham, NC; and also Carrie Jane Hicks of Kernersville, NC. He is also survived by three grandchildren; dedicated best friend, "Raymond"; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
