She was predeceased by: her parents, Idamae Ewing Davis and Nathaniel Davis; and her husband John H. Cowan. She is survived by: her son John C. Cowan Sr. (Jennifer) of New York; and her grandchildren, Niambi, Jumaane, John Jr. and Christin.
