She was predeceased by: her parents, Maryetta Hobson Thompson and James Rankin (Bus); her children, Teresa Sturdivant (Tess) and Clay Anthony Sturdivant; and her siblings, David Ralph Hobson and Marie Hobson.
She is survived by: her husband Clayton Sturdivant; her children, Donald Sturdivant (Mae) and Natalie "Hope" Wallace (Preston); her daughter-in-law Patricia Byrd Sturdivant; and her grandchildren, LaMichael "Antwjuan" Marlin (Kenya), Nadia S. Griner (Bruce), Chad Sturdivant, Darrius Wallace, Jared Wallace, Preston Wallace III, Alisha Byrd-Clark, Adrienne Witherspoon, Camille Mackey and Kevin Mackey. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
