He was predeceased by: his son David Reuben Arey; his wife Martha Ellen Surratt; his brothers, David Leon Arey and Dr. Vaughn Arey; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Huffman Arey, Donald Surratt and Frank Surratt.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Dyer (Jim), Sandra Lesley (Dan), Kim Arey (Laura) and Lisa Barrier (Lonnie); his brothers, Johnny C. Arey and Clyde Arey (Mary Catherine); his sisters-in-law, Dottie Krech, Norma Surratt and Dr. Jo Ann Arey; his grandchildren, Shelly Batts (Charles), Jodie Cross (Jason), Jennifer Smith (Wesley), Drew Lesley, Justin Lesley, Hunter Barrier, Haley Stehr (Nolan), Taylor Arey (Ethan Hiatt), Preston Lesley (Shelby) and Logan Arey; his great grandchildren, Ella, Brinley, Callen Batts, Corbin, Mia Cross, Sadie Smith, Fletcher, Judd Stehr and Tate Hiatt; and his caregivers, Joyce Rhoton, Stephanie McCray and Heather Hanson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and forever lasting friends.
